What does OEM mean? |
|
OEM is an acronym for Original Equipment Manufacturer. OEM video cards are those that shipped already installed inside a computer directly from Apple. |

Why do I need ATI Radeon Displays 4.2 (or greater)? |
|
ATI Radeon Displays contains the software that provides extra functionality for retail cards. Normally installing this software with an OEM card would give you no benefit. Radeon Enabler updates the software installed by the ATI Radeon Displays package to make it recognize your OEM or onboard graphics.
Note: ATI Radeon Display 4.2.5 or higher is required for Mobility and onboard graphics support

Will TV-out work with my OEM card or onboard chipset? |
|
Um, no. The ATI Displays application only understands and supports the hardware on retail Radeon graphics cards. |

Will advanced features such as Versavision work with my graphics chipset? |
|
No. These features rely on capabilities included in the firmware of the card. These capabilities are included in the retail versions but not the OEM or onboard versions. |

Will Radeon Enabler work with my OEM nVidia graphics card? |

No. Radeon Enabler enables additional support in the ATI Displays component that only works with ATI graphics chipsets. |

Will Radeon Enabler make my PC version video card work in a Mac? |

No. Radeon Enabler does not modify the video card in any way. Converting a PC video card for Mac use requires modifying the card. |

Will Radeon Enabler work with my onboard ATI graphics chipset? |

[UPDATED]: Radeon Enabler now supports most Radeon Mobility and onboard (eMac) graphics chipsets. |

Why won't Radeon Enabler work with my ATI Rage graphics chipsets? |

The ATI Displays application that Radeon Enabler patches, is not designed to work with the Rage family of chipsets. ATI only included support for Radeon graphics chipsets. |

Will Radeon Enabler damage or change my video card? |
|
No. Radeon Enabler doesn’t "flash" or update your video card hardware in any way. |

Does Radeon Enabler "hack" the video drivers in OSX? |
|
No. Radeon Enabler only updates the ATI Displays application. No drivers or kernel extensions (kext’s) are added or modified. |
