Installation

Before you install Radeon Enabler, please read the Release Notes.

  1. Download and install ATI Radeon Displays 4.2 or higher
  2. Download and mount the Radeon Enabler disk image
  3. Be sure to read the enclosed ReadMe file for late-breaking news of installation instructions
  4. Double-click the Radeon Enabler application (you can run the application directly from the disk image - no need to copy it to your hard drive)
  5. The application will guide you through the patching process
  6. After patching is complete, reboot your system

When you open the ATI Displays control panel, you might receive this error alert:

Ignore the error. The error, although poorly worded, is indicating that the application is having trouble communicating with the TVOut functions of the video card. Since OEM cards don't have TVOut hardware, you can safely ignore this (annoying) error message.

Please note that hardware dependent features such as "Versavision" and "TV-Out" will not function with OEM or onboard graphics. They lack the hardware support needed for these functions.

If you have any problems during the installation process, be sure to check the FAQ and Troubleshooting pages.

If you can't find a solution to your problem, you can try contacting the author for support. Be sure to generate a support file from Radeon Enabler (under the Support menu -> Generate Support File...) and attach this file to your email. The Support file will help us debug the problem and provide valuable insight into any problems that Radeon Enabler encountered.
